Future Software Dev?… I think so!

The world today

2020 has been an extreme adversity for millions of people worldwide. Jobs dissipated, people became sick, and unfortunately 200k+ lives were lost. This pandemic opened my eyes, the world of tech was too advance and too in demand to be affected as hard as other fields. So I figured this was the best time to make my move.

My new journey

For some time now becoming a software engineer has also been in the back of my mind. My #1 excuse was that I didn’t have the time to devote myself to a new career field or learn the skills to become a Software Dev. This pandemic has changed my mind, we have to make time for the things we want. It’s just a matter of how much are you willing to sacrifice to get to where you want to be. My decision to join Flatiron was a jump, I have little to no experience at all. It hit me and it hit me early that the amount of time I will need to dedicate to become efficient will be no laughing matter. It’s almost uncomfortable. Luckily I have a great support group behind me.

Those helping me along the way

My two younger brothers, one is a Software Engineer for a fortune 500 company, and the other is a Computer Science major at FSU. An amazing girlfriend who has always been supportive of me and understands the future sacrifices that will need to be made in order to make my dreams come true. Finally my best friends that alway hold me accountable and have my back . With these people behind me I feel like I can’t lose. Hopefully at the end of this journey I will be a Full Stack developer working towards creating the next best thing.

Ps. This is my first blog, so I apologize for any grammatical errors :-)
